A few days before the celebration of its 10th anniversary, the newspaper « L ‘Economiste du Bénin » held, Thursday, August 25, 2022, a press conference to announce the event. In addition, the media was given the opportunity to give a glimpse of the activities planned.
Committed to serving a new range of information to readers of various orders for several years, Benin’s first economic daily, The Economist of Benin, has 10 years of experience. Over the long term, having demonstrated professionalism in several respects, which has earned it a notoriety at the sub-regional level with notably a presence in Togo, Niger, Ivory Coast, Senegal and soon in other countries of the WAEMU, this media that has revolutionized the world of economic information in West Africa is working to give a special character to this celebration.
Thus, as part of this commemoration, several activities were selected to enrich the program during the week of September 12 to 17, 2022 at Azalaï Hotel. These include the1st Economist’s Forum whose theme is: « Efficiency of Economic and Financial Information for Sustainable Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa »; social activities made of donation of life and manufactured products to orphanages; tourist outing; educational activities; the economist’s market (a great business opportunity for economic actors); and finally, the evening of Gala and distinction of partners.
This commemoration, according to Leonard Dossou, Director General of the press group « L’Economiste du Bénin », aims to: reaffirm the leadership and the label of the daily newspaper The Economist of Benin; increase its visibility; celebrate its partners by awarding them; offer a framework of business opportunities to economic actors through « The Market of The Economist »; offer advertising spaces to sponsors and patrons in national and international media and on digital platforms; offer a framework of dialogue, exchanges of contacts to guests around conferences-debates and high-level meetings. In his address to the press, « the occasion of the first decade also allows us to take stock, to assess our strengths and weaknesses, to identify new opportunities and threats and finally to look at the horizon with optimism, » said Léonard Dossou before specifying that « the 10-year jubilee allows us to reasonably grasp the future challenges that could arise before us in the post-Covid-19 era. »
It is important to add that the « Forum of the Economist » which is the major event of the festivities of this jubilee of tin, big names of finance are expected namely: the business banker Lionel Zinsou, the Managing Director of the BRVM, Dr Edoh Kossi Aménounvé, the President & CEO of Afrik Créances, and many others.
